One of my favorites, Lionel’s 18009 & 18064 Mohawks gets all the upgrades....this one got some additional add ons such as MTH valve linkage, MTH valve guides, and oiler linkage...and of course a big ol’ fat Pittman....gone is the AC Pulmor.....this build I used a 18064 chassis and 18009 boiler casting.....chuff and smoke chores are handled by a pair of cherry switches and a custom 4 lobe cam made by my buddy Pete ( Norton) ...electronics is all ERR supplied by our buddy John Will, who also hooked me up with a killer pair of speakers for this build...I had to carefully customize the cast floor of the tender to accommodate these guys...some dead MTH tender frames donated their speaker grates generously....and NO traction tires!..so this should please the no traction tires for me group...I’ll follow this initial post with a video....enjoy the pics of the build.......Pat

My 18064 is out for upgrades as well. Not as much as this one Pat. Nice work, that's for sure.

Now do one with a Selkirk smokebox front 😉.
I missed a couple more pics showcasing those speakers John Will provided...these really took that sound to the next level......far superior to the rinky-dink speaker supplied with the kit.....there’s no crazy baffling, they just live in the shell, and I’m very pleased with the sound quality.......Pat
