I have a friend that is looking for something for his grandsoons for Christmas. Here in Georgia we see a lot of CSX. I have tried finding an affordable locomotive or set to no avail. I know MTH offered one years ago with the original proto sound. Any idea who is making one these days? Wish there was a Lion CHief plus model for ME!!!

I actually have a Legacy that is scale that I need to sell on here myself. I will hunt used as well. I like the Williams stuff. Pat sold me a few sets and I have been very happy with them for the price.
Someone on the Bay lists Atlas gp-15's conventional from time to time. Heavy, well detailed, usually in the $125-150 range. WBB had stuff that would be more suited for a younger engineer if you can keep them from breaking the land speed record.
Lionel had a 6-30153 set a few years ago. Some dealers broke up the sets.
Just got a mailer from Mario's Trains and this set was in it, plus an additional 10% off. If I was in the market, I'd get this one.

Lionel made a pair of Dash 8-40C's in 1994 that were quite well received. They had dual AC motors, electronic reverse units, and horns.
