Hey guys. I have a problem. I am using the Custom Signals (dual head) and the Atlas (single head) searchlight type signals. These are the ones with the 3 color LED. I do not use the signals for block control....just using them to show me switch indication.
I have (3) of them causing me problems. All three are hooked up to the same DZ2500 switch motor. The signals are activitated by connection thru the green or yellow wire from the switch motor to the Din post on the Signal board. I have used this connection for a dozen other switches without a problem. When I push the switch button, the signals change color from red to green or vice versa. Problem is, they do not "drop" to yellow first. The signal goes dark for a few seconds then changes color. All of other signals I have installed elsewhere display the yellow aspect before going to green.
i suspect it is a faulty switch motor DZ2500.
I hooked up a switch control button to the white wire of the motor and the LED's on the controller are both lit. Not a good thing. The controller will only throw the switch one direction, however the button on the motor works both ways.
Since all (3) of the signals are hooked up to the same switch motor and I have issues with the push button, I fully suspect the DZ2500 has some faulty internal circuitry.
Opinions please....I hate to have to replace the motor at this point. Of course it is the one in the most awkward location to work on!
Thanks for any suggestions.
