Was watching a fun documentary last night on how Zombies have exploded in popular culture going all the way back to Night of the Living Dead. Went on line and sure enough, Lionel sells a Zombie figure pack. Anyone have these guys on their layout?

Not yet, but I plan on getting them. There are also some zombie gaming pieces I saw online that look O gauge compatible.
Nope, and never will either. It's not a fad I'll be a part of.
I have an assortment of passenger figures. And other than the rather expensive MTH figures the rest all look like walking dead. Might as well mix a few zombies in those cars to spice things up.

Nope, not on the layout.
Hmmmm....
Come to think of it, though, I did see a few wandering the dark recesses of the Games Dept. at our store (LHS) last week....and the week before....and the week before that...and.... Good grief! Now I wonder if they ever left!!!!??

Does this count?
My kids
The only zombie I have is me running the trains.
i plan to have the occasional sighting of Bigfoot on mine. I'm going to move him around from time to time just keep it interesting.
No, they all moved on. They looked over the entire trainroom and determined there were no brains to be had!
Hobos are a kind of social zombie so that counts! Plus if any of the hobo camps are near a cemetery they will most likely be the first to be bitten and converted.
I love the Loch Ness Monster!!! Where did you find the figure?

no zombies but the gremlins surface every
once in awhile.
No, but my grandson had a purple mouth yesterday. Does that count?

Here in Pixxburgh...zombie capital of the universe...we expect 'em around every street corner...so sure, why not ?
I am the only Zombie on or near my layout, that is before I have my first cup of coffee.
I have the LIONEL walking zombie car. It is suitably bizarre. Their 5 pack of zombie people won't be out til September according to their shipping schedule. We run a Halloween train in September and October and try to add a little each year. I am not as over the top for Halloween as some but some of the LIONEL stuff like the blood plasma tank car is too cool in an odd way.
This thread has encouraged me to make a change: I'm going to add a billboard/placard on the layout advertising the 1952 movie serial Zombies of the Stratosphere. It is truly a terrible show but I love it because it is about the first thing Leonard Nimoy was in: he plays the pilot of the Martian spaceship, who can breath under water and has . . . pointy ears! I've got to find a advertisement for in that has the aspect ratio I want (wider, not taller) to fit my billboard . . .

I'm a huge fan of the those types of films Lee and would love to see it when complete!
I like Zombie movies, and the TV series "The Walking Dead". So, when Lionel came out with this walking Zombie brakeman car, I had to have it. The "Walker" walks up and down the roof, turning around at each end, as the car rolls along.
What layout?
The table is favored for ping pong.

Dear Scott,
No zombies per se! My 25 hobos haven't moved in a dog's age though.....does that make them eligible to qualify for zombie benefit? LOL
Mike Maurice
Lee, that's fantastic. I would honestly pay good money to see your layout in person!
Mike,
Yes. Hobos are "pre-zombies" or "at risk" zombies. Unsanitary conditions in the hobo camps will be fertile ground for the viral outbreak that created the zombies in "28 Days", "Shawn of the Dead" and "World War Z". After that the rest of your layout will be infected and overrun in short order unless you have a military presence like Lee's rocket launcher. Ultimately your layout will have to be burned. Sorry.

No zombies, and no people, either. Apparently I've created a post-apocalyptic world that is completely uninhabitated, and the landscape has the contour and texture of rather beat up hollow core door....

Scott,
Thank you for that information. Most informative. I will tell my hobos to be more sanitary (though there is one on my layout that is going through the trash as we speak)!
You did not inform me of any zombie benefits that they would be entitled to!

No money required, just come visit. I realize its a long way from California but if you ever plan to be in this neck of the woods, let me know. You are always welcome!

I'm not sure, but I suppose it would be the standard benefit "All the brains you can eat".
Thanks Lee, it's on my bucket list. Did not know you were a warship fan. Recently toured the Iowa at Long Beach Harbor. Spectacular model of the entire ship under glass at the end of the tour -- about 10 feet long -- and in full WWII battle configuration.
Charlie,
Hah! That was gonna be my exact answer but you beat me to it!

Do not allow any of your Zombies to go to Washington DC, they will starve!
I find myself wondering what will happen if you were to install two rail zombies on a three rail layout or vise versa????? ....But before we can answer that one, some big O gauge figure outfit will have to step up to the plate ! Ahoy; Zombies !
