I have seen this product on t.v. and they even mentioned it is good for hobby scenery. Has anybody tried it yet and is it cost effective.

Well, I suspect we'd have to know more than "seen on TV" to offer an intelligent opinion. Did you happen to catch a name?
Flux Paste makes it a real mystery product. Is it a glue, or a flux?

Just my opinion but, I can't imagine that it would be any better than Matt Medium, which can be diluted with warm water as necessary, and after it hardens can be softened/removed with cheap alcohol.

I'm always leery of anything As Seen On TV, that normally translates to Junk With Big Ad Budget. This is the same outfit that advertises Flex Seal.
No reviews for the new stuff, but Flex Seal didn't fare too well in a Consumer Reports Test. A clip from that synopsis.
Bottom line. All aboard. Flex Seal floated our boat, and Teddy stayed dry. But with other uses, we hit rough seas. It took three coats of Flex Seal to plug the pipe holes, and larger holes blew out under water pressure. Even three coats didn’t seal vertical sections of our gutter’s end caps and joints: The product dripped down. Flex Seal was flexible but tore when bent too far. And although it sealed the crack in our flowerpot, we had to use two coats of spray paint to conceal our handiwork.
I won't be rushing out to buy this stuff.
