I wanted one in a trailer park. Built the frame, added a tiny light and filled it with clear resin. I wasn't sure if the light would take the heat when the resin was curing but it did. The "water" is only about 1/4 inches deep but looks deeper. I used blue cardboard paper for the bottom. If I were to do it again I would airbrush the bottom at one end a light blue and slowly darken it so it looked like the pool had a shallow and deep end. Also I would add a second light. All "people" are from Arttista Figures. This is an easy and fun project for an afternoon of modeling. DonDSC_0285DSC_0269

I placed two Plasticville Motel buildings at the East Suburbia section of my two-level layout, along with a swimming pool for guests.  I used a piece of paper to simulate the water. The surfer guests are probably disappointed that the pool isn't big enough to accommodate their surfboard. I considered placing two Arista figures at poolside; a mischievous boy who scampered away with the bra of an embarrassed half-nude woman, but opted not to -- since kids often visit my layout.

I'm working on an indoor pool like the one where I was an instructor and lifeguard in my early college days.  Kit bashing two Plasticville airplane hangars by butting them end to end, raising the foundation about 4 feet, possobly enlargeng the windows on the sides, and adding an office, lobby, and dressing rooms in front.  I'm also going to put a "bear shooting" pre-computer game in the lobby.  I appreciate some of the ideas I got from this one.
