Just bought the license for Anyrail and am having a great time using it, however I can't seem to find how to cut or shorten a piece of track. I manage to get the pop up menu with the "knife" icon and "cut flex here" command, but cannot figure out how to use it. Cannot find help in the on-line manual. Would greatly appreciate any help.

Steve, I have used the "cut flex here" command. Basically, you add a piece of flex to the layout, then position the pointer over the location you want to cut, and it cuts the flex into two connected pieces.
You can also work with flex pieces after added to the layout: you can select the end of a flex piece and lengthen or shorten the piece with the mouse. Hard to describe better than that, just try it if you have not already.
Ken, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I guess I was looking for a more definitive cutting action. Also part of my problem was selecting Gargraves straight 37" track which cannot be cut, it has to be flex track. Thanks again.
Warning, do not try using a Dremel with a cut off wheel. I had to buy a new screen for my laptop.

You can also do like this:
- add a flex track on your track plan,
- right clic on the flex you added,
- go to "straight flex",
- then you can adjust the length.

I've found that you can only cut the Flex Track from Gargraves and other Manufacturers. Sometimes a little annoying, I know. But it's still a super planning program. I've made about 13 different major edits in my current plan and I still go back and re-work it as I'm assembling the benchwork.
You can thank me, I got them to add flex track for some of the Lionel track libraries several years ago.

Wish they would add the "snip" command for non-flex track. Hard not to design a plan without cutting.
