Hey guys, I wasn't able to find this on the Atlas O site... I've got several Atlas cars that are in 3R that I got good deals on and couldn't pass up and need to convert them to 2R. I know Atlas offers the wheel/coupler sets in 33" and 36", the problem I'm faced with is I don't know which cars would use the 33 or 36 wheels. The following are the cars I need to convert:

40' Wood Reefer

89' Flat

Berwick Hycube

50' Single Sheathed Box(Trainman)

Any help would be appreciated!

All cars are your list except the Berwick Hy Cube car will take 33" diameter wheelsets.  The Berwick car is rated for 100 ton so it will require 36" wheelsets - Atlas web site indicates that this car came equipped with 100 ton roller bearing trucks, i.e 36" wheelsets.  33" wheelsets are for cars rated for 70 ton.

Yep, Scott is correct... All will use 33" wheels except the 60' Berwick Hy Cube boxcar which uses 36" wheels.

Something else you'll need to consider is some of these cars may have came with trucks with rotating bearing caps on the axles.  These axles are not pointed, rather have a shoulder on them for the plastic bearing cap.  As of right now Atlas does not offer the shouldered axles replacement wheelsets.  NWSL does offer them though if you were wanting to keep the physical trucks you have now and just replace the wheels.

You could also get replacement trucks with the appropriate wheelsets already installed.
