Atlas seems to be the only company out there with ready to use turnouts, except for custom made turnouts.

I thought I hit the,"mother load" when I looked up the Old Pullman website&found a huge variety of turnout sizes, crossovers&flextrack. Then I found out from a member that they were out of business.

So that leaves Atlas products as I can't use the other company's turnouts located in Michigan as I can't pay $86-$100+ per switch. They also only seem to offer a #6 as their smallest t/o.

On the Atlas switches, are the point rails as razor thin as they appear in photos of them? I ask this as no pic of these has ever been up close enough that I've seen,to make a judgement on&since they're backordered from China,I can't buy any to examine in person.I'm still uncommited as to 2 or 3 rail.Ross Custom turnouts in 3 rail look really nice as far as their construction plus they've got real wood ties which is a plus on the side of 3 rail&are made in the good old USA so no delays in purchase.

Thanks to all in advance for your replies!

Jim,thank you very much!  VERY NICE photos.
These turnouts have GREAT detail! No complaints.
Could these switches be used with Caboose Industries ground throw switch stands?
Also, can the throw bar be rotated from one side to the other? As on HO switches, it looks like the point ends have "tabs" that can be pried up to allow the connecting end that attaches to the switchstand,to be changed to the opposite side of the track,to allow the switchstand to be located on either side of the switch;am I correct on these O Scale turnouts?
Thanks much.

Alan,

This has been mentioned before, but have you looked at BK Enterprises?

This would appear to be a better price range for you, but the assembled ones will require you to invest some time and effort in spiking them down to wood ties. That's the trade off-either you pay some one else to spike, or you do it and save. You can add either R-O-W or San Juan detail parts as you wish, and yes the Caboose Industries switch stands will work as long as you select the model with the greatest throw dimension.

Thank you for the information.
Your comments about where O Scale is today,is a painful reality I've found. I love the size&the possibilities, but it just seems few new products are available. I've accumulated most all the freight cars I need to get a great pike going in HO. The only changes I plan to make are in track&couplers.
Thought I'd try Shinohara or Walthers for track& definately change from Kadee to fully working knuckle couplers from Sergent Engineering. I can't believe the lack of safety shelf couplers in O Scale& can't believe O doesn't have working ground throw switch stands with rotating targets. I've examined the prototype&there's not that much to them. With double the size in O Scale,I expected to find them here.
Thanks for your input&have a happy&safe 4th.
