Hey Guys! So I bought this at a train show and it's been nothing but trouble. The gears were messed up, the belt was totally put on wrong and it had bug eggs all over the inside... ick. Anyway, all those issues seem to be almost fixed but now it keeps losing power/ sparking. I have tried multiple engines and when they get on it, it sparks and loses power. If I give the turntable a shake, the engine will regain power without being moved so I assume something is loose but I have taken it all apart, soldered some pieces and still my engines spark on the outer rails then go dead. It has both ball bearings under it still and those are all cleaned off. Any ideas?

Update! For future people that may have this issue. Call up ol Atlas and for around $8 shipped they'll send you an upgrade kit that replaces the cap/spring/ball bearing design and instead uses a single piece that, according to them, will never need to be replaced unlike those darn springs.

I took a look at their website and didn't see that kit listed anywhere. Do you have a part number or is this a phone order only item?

Yep gotta call
Jack. I called today and spoke with Steve in parts. He had no such part or upgrade kit for the turntable. Did you get yours yet? Maybe you can post a part number for us?

That’s weird... and it had no part number with it at all. It came in zip locks labled “short” and “long”
Thanks anyway. Sure does sound strange way to issue a part, though. Non-inventory.
The person you need to talk to at Atlas is Bill Serratelli, 908-687-0880 X-7132. The parts were seperate pieces and Bill usually put them together to send to customers.
So, do I understand this is a kit for the older turntable model that provides improved parts for the two connectors for the track power?
Thanks for any updates- I plan to call Bill at Atlas tomorrow per Steve's direction.
