I just picked up an Atlas GP35 dummy, (Thanks, Robert W), and was surprised that it had rollers and had lights. There wa a sheet with directions on how to operate the lights.
How are the what look like electro couplers operated?
To operate the electrocouplers you have to have a TMCC board. Train America used to sell a "smart dummy" board that would run lights, couplers, and smoke but didn't have the motor driver. However, TAS is gone. If you want to be able to use the couplers, your best bet would be to put some kind of Electric Railroad board in it. Or, you could just swap in some conventional couplers.
Boxcar Bill, thanks for the link, very interesting what the MiniEX can do.
I do not have Lionel Cab 1 system. I have MTH DCS. So, I don't think that will work at this time.
I will probably look into getting conventional couplers if they make them.
I have an Atlas U23B that I am going to operate it with and it has TMCC, the only engine I have that has that. I may someday down the road look into TMCC. ( Of course I can't open the U23B couplers either!)
