I'm still from the school that I will shim the gearbox and use the centerset couplers, my favorites at this stage (since I've used up all my 805's) are the 745's since I can modify the plastic gearbox easier than the metal one.  I do own some of the new 742 and 747's so I will eventually get around to trying them.

The Atlas factory draft gear box has a pretty thick "roof" (unlike a Kadee the "lid" is on the bottom) and thus causes a lot of the low coupler problem. Simply replacing the Atlas coupler and draft gearbox with a Kadee coupler and box goes a long way toward solving that problem. A center shank Kadee may end up just a bit low, but they've never caused me problems when installed on the GP60 series.
