I have read several post concerning spacing and different track manufacturers. I have not been able to locate an answer concerning this specific problem. I am using atlas O 21st century track and not only is it too wide it is also too low for the engine house. I understand I can shim up the track but that does not seem like an option due to the ties hitting the shed floor at the ends of the ties ( meaning the ties are too wide for the shed ). I also noticed it appears tat there are some sort of spacing tabs in the shed floor that may be removed for different brands of track. Does anyone have any experience with this. MTH list on there description that all tracks can be used but does not explain how. They even suggest looking at the photo below but there is NO photo.

You have to modify the entrance area of the base under the doorway to accommodate the profile of the roadbed or ties of the track that you are using.

Pieces of hardboard or Masonite or cork roadbed can be used to raise the track inside.

Work the base edge with a file, knife, grinder, whatever you have on hand to fit it to the track.

You can also trim the track ties to fit, if you would like to keep the shed original. Just cut them with a hobby saw or cutting disk.

yes, you may have to remove the tabs. I think they were specifically for Lionel FasTrack accommodation.

I have the dual shed and use Atlas track.  I had no issues lining up the track and putting the shed over the track.  I didn't make any mods to the shed.  As for the approach, I used Atlas O72 switches, and a section of O72 track to go parallel and they lined right up.

As for track height, I have my track on the Midwest cork road bed and the top of the rail lines up with the floor of the shed.  Just be sure to screw the shed down using the two holes in the shed floor between the track.
