In need of a speaker for my Atlas O 0-6-0 (product number escapes me at the minute) anyway it's a 8 ohm 1.25 watt speaker. Where can I get one? I've also considered converting this to ERR electronics, but with that large 7 wire tether it might be a challenge. Has anyone ever upgraded one of these?

The sound produced by that speaker is just terrible. If you do any work on it or replacing it, build a baffle. Gorgeous loco, poor performance and sound.

I agree. The speaker is so tiny on that one. I put the sound card from it into one of my other engines and it sounded a lot better. Yes, the performance is horrible too, that's why I asked if anyone has converted it to ERR, I'd rather have cruise than TAS speed control.
@gunrunnerjohn have you converted this to ERR electronics?
I haven't done that exact locomotive, but many similar ones.

Was it hard?
Define "hard". As with many things, it depends on your skill level at the particular task. It wasn't especially "hard" for me, but some folks find it extremely difficult to impossible. Each upgrade comes with it's own set of challenges, and the difficulty is also related to how fancy you want to get with the upgrade. Many of my upgrades get fan driven chuffing smoke and extra lighting.

I haven't opened it so not sure about the electronics in it but the tether plug might be a challenge. Although I do have a continuity meter. I'll open it and have a look.
I hope you understand my reluctance to specify the difficulty of such an upgrade. While some would call it "easy", I'd be a total bust at open heart surgery.

I got you.
