I just installed my new Atlas O Turntable. It’s not like a full size, drop in type that’s $$$, but it looks good and the price is right. I’m using a Bachman small DC transformer to power it and turns in both directions pretty well, but the motor sounds like it’s grinding and overworking. I though I saw a comment about the same issue. Does anyone else have this problem? I’m worried about burning it out with just average use. Thank

When you say new, is this a new in the box older turntable or a recently built turntable. The older ones had motor issues that were mostly corrected a couple years ago.
You could try some grease on the gears. This is how mine has sounded since day one. We have had it about 10 years.
Have Fun!

The Two Rons, thanks for your response. Ron II, mine sure doesn't sound that smooth at all. I also like the way you’ve placed it on your layout. Ron I, the turntable is “new in the box” and the newer motor version from Atlas. I purchased it a couple of months ago and finally got it in place. It works, but it doesn’t sound right and I don’t want to burn it out.
Thanks again for both of your input.
Great hobby. Stay safe!
