I plan on using a Bachmann grass mat as the ground cover for my first train board. The surface will be extruded foam board. My question is, what's the best material to use to attach the grass mat? I've read a variety of opinions but I'm leaning toward two sided carpet tape at this point but I could not find any comments about whether this tape will adhere properly to foam board. Any advice is appreciated.

Don't know why the carpet tape wouldn't work. If you go around the perimeter, it would at least keep the grass mat from sliding off, and the edges stuck down.
Another method would be to get a can of water-soluble contact adhesive. Simply paint it on the surface of the foam board, let it dry a short amount of time (or whatever the instructions say), then lay the grass mat on it.

I use 3M General Purpose 45 spray adhesive.
Thanks. I've seen adhesive spray, contact cement, tacks, staples and carpet tape mentioned on various internet sites so I imagine they would all work.
