Just curious about how everyone else controls spiders in their train rooms and basements layouts. Ran trains today at my dad's and the first couple laps results in multiple spider webs and dead spiders dragging in our consist.

Well the spiders like hang out in my buildings and scenery. I'm not sure how many other bugs live there. If there is any simple solutions, I'm all ears but I think all I might hear is crickets.

True, but those Wolf spiders get pretty big and my wife doesn't like them.
I use glue strips and lay them on the floor near the sump pump, the sliding door, and other areas around the room. When you first put them down, you will need to replace every couple of days. Once the populations decrease, maybe once a week. These also catch the bugs. And yes, they are messy and not pet or child friendly.

Don't know if it wouldbe a solution but are spiders and other small creatures turned off by Lemon scent smokeouts by your favorite locomotive.
Interesting that Judy has been using those little plug ins with lemon scented oils. Info has it that insects don't like the lemon scent.
