I am not sure where my problem, is. But this is the observation. I have a heavy consist of maybe 28 or 30 K-Line aluminum hopper cars. They are heavy on the pull, but I am using full-powered Lionel ABA sets to run. No issues, there.
What I see: I can run a loco set in reverse and auto-couple to the lead hopper car and pull, no problem. The problem is the auto-uncoupling. It does not matter which Lionel ABA set I am using-observation is the same. When I try to uncouple from the Cab3 app (Base 3), I can hear no activation of the coupler from the trailing A unit. It takes putting the set into reverse and moving it backward a couple inches, and then I can hear the activation of the auto coupler. But the leading hopper car will not let go-I have been trying this several times for a while, and I end up having to do a manual uncouple of the coupler tab on the hopper, by hand. Maybe the heavy weight and tension is causing the knuckles to bind, together? Is there a way around this, or anything I can be doing differently, short of running shorter consists?
