Am looking for some info on this battery light, As there is no whey the bulb will make contact with the battery. The holder does not look like it is broken. How ever I do not if there is any missing parts. This is the bulb that came with this. could very well be the wrong one. Last pix is the loco it came from. Thanks for your time......

Your electronics analysis is correct. There must be a missing part like a spring or when the holder is installed there is a connection to the bulb.
If there was a connection to the bulb it would be on all the time. The way it is set up it appears that the engine somehow controls the bulbs illumination.

The battery compartment is similar but different at the same time. I'm far from an expert in this realm, but hopefully this information gets you a bit closer.
Thanks everyone, Alan there is a switch at the bottom. The case is the neg. side.
BMORAND The bottom looks the same just wish I could see the top. Pretty sure this a Hafner but have never saw one with three windows....
