For the last two weeks my son and I have been working on a corner of the layout.  Just finish, still need to add some small debries to the area.  The water tower is a new Lionel that just arrived before Christmas.  We used pink foam for the base and stucturemold to fill in some voids.  The water tower is our highest point on the layout and the smiley face oversee's Hillcity.  Nick

Thanks for the replies and comments.  The funnest part of it all is when my boy throws the power on and we lay our heads down to dog level on the track to watch the trains.  We are all most done with the layout and hope to get some photos off to the magazine some day.  Need to work on our photography.   Nick

my youngest of 4 is now ten. All the others are grown and moved out. Vanny, my 10 year old, helps often on the layout. I am already dreading the day she moves on and I lose my last in house helper. That smiley tower project with your son will be a sweet memory every time either of you see a smiley face for the rest of your lives. Awesome.

Buzz is 1 inch tall.  We found him in a parking lot of Hobby Town about 8 Years ago.  My son was just a baby then and I had no idea what a Lionel was then.  If you look in all our pics, Buzz and or R2-D2 will be hiding out in it.  Nick
