My lay out consists of two separate loops that are totally isolated from each other.
I have an older ZW 275 transformer and an MTH Z-750 power supply. I have been running both loops from the ZW using one output to the fixed channel 1 on the TIU and then both tracks off of the channel 1 output. I have an automotive type 10 amp spade fuse between the transformer and the TIU. I am having no issues but I keep reading about different ways some have wired their layout to help protect the TIU.
Is what I am doing OK or should I be using the Z-750 power supply to power the TIU and running each loop from a separate channel of the TIU? I understand electricity pretty well but I know nothing about electronics and I want to have my setup safe for the electronics in the TIU and the locomotives.
Thank in advance for your help.
