I was just looking for recommendations on the best places to buy/view accessories. It does not need to be a specific manufacturer, I would just like to see the options. I would really like to see what is out there as far as operating/lighted/smoking accessories. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Go to ebay and under the category: Toys & Hobbies > Model Railroads & Trains > O Scale type the word "Operating" or "Animated" in the "search" field and scroll through results. This will give you a good representation of the various operating accessories which have been made over the years. You could also use "smoking" or "lighted" but those most likely will give you way too many results to scroll through and most of the hits might be for engines with "smoke" or "lighted" passenger cars.

I'd also check some of the larger dealers like Train World to see whats available. Sometimes eBay prices are higher than the online stores.
Just to clarify....my reference to ebay was solely to see what was made and by whom. You can then do a google search to find what dealers may have the item in stock and at what price.

You can also go to YouTube and search Lionel operating accessories. Then you can watch video of most of them in action. Suspect you can do the same for MTH although some of the MTH accesories are Lionel remakes. There are numerous layout videos with multiple accessories. It's fun to watch them all operate.
