What do you use for or where can I get fine black roof granules ??? - Years ago I remember getting small bags in Korber kits - recently acquired an Altoona Model Works roundhouse and I need to do a little “touch-up” on one area of the roof that has fine black granules

Many arts and crafts stores, like Michael's, have black granular products that may work depending on the size of the granules you need.
I've also had good luck at pet stores where they have aquarium supplies, like sand and pebbles, as well as different types of grit that, if the right size, you could simply paint black.

As crazy as this sounds. I know someone who used / bought black pepper from the Dollar store. It really looked good. Have to see if I have a photo of it.
