I have just completed the Blair Line kit for a customer. In addition to the normal kit instructions I added the following:

- a lot more internal wood bracing (hidden by the card stock wall paper).
- a scribed wood floor.
- 'tin' for the shed roof and porch over hang in place of the tar paper
- 'Asphalt' roof in place of the tar paper
- a much better looking chimney
- interior and porch lights

I am posting the finished product below. I will add some assembly photos in the next post.IMG_3732

The building has a solid floor so the only access to the interior lights is the roof. I had to make the roof detachable (not glued down). I originally cut triangular 'trusses'. Didn't work - the ends curled up, so as seen below more wood bracing and a whole mess of clamps.

The wood floor was stained with Micro Mark railroad tie brown/gray. The cross beam will hold the interior lights. before adding the interior I painted the building off white and the front porch concrete.

Some more photos

The tin roof was made using Plastruct ribbed siding. I painted it dull aluminum (dull nickel also works) then used powders for the rust (customer wanted very light rusting)

The windows and doors are multi-piece assemblies. I painted them green while still attached to the sprues, cut them out assembled, installed then did some touch up paint. I did add the porch beams in between the posts for extra support.

All in all this is a fairly easy kit to assemble
