Looks as though BNSF will be doing ten special paint schemes on ten of their locomotives, to commemorate 25 years. Saw images of one locomotive on, The Hill Lines, on Facebook.

Great post. I found photos on the “BNSF Railway” Facebook Page. The photos show a locomotive with former railroad flags painted on the side, we’ll likely be seeing heritage units for them.
ATSF: Warbonnet or blue and yellow?
About time BNSF!
Ordinarily I’d be excited by the possibility of seeing O scale versions of these heritage units in the next MTH catalog. But obviously that’s not going to happen. 🙁

Reports I saw on Facebook indicate all ten units will be painted the same - only the engine number will be different. So these won't be true heritage units far as being painted in predecessor paint schemes.
Link to story on Trains with pictures.
I'm not holding my breath waiting for actual heritage schemes on locomotives given the first foray was logos on hoppers. They have a few SD70ACe's in the roster, they could go with this one and one in Burlington Northern Livery:
If they had gone with the "tag line" approach -- i.e., "A Division of BNSF Railway" under or next to the long-hood primary lettering, they could have avoided the repainting. Since I've been officially tossed off the Isle of Denial, I may add a tag line to the model.

The release statement from BNSF indicates that ALL of the "25th Anniversary Locomotives" will be painted the same. Those selected units were scheduled to be be repainted anyway, and the first unit done so far, is a wreck-repaired unit.

Well, I got an email today from the dealer I use, saying that MTH has announced uncatalogued versions of the locos, in both scale and hi-rail versions, in six cab numbers. Consecutive product numbers, starting with 20-21505-1 and 22-21505-2.

I got the E-mail, too. I'm thinking about one or two as these are likely the last.
I got a rock....
The New York Central and the Santa Fe would have been an even better merger.
