These photos will show you what the final result will look like. I'm not saying posting photos of what I do that I am some kind of genius I'm far from it just trying to show you what can be accomplished through buying a sheet of styrene. When I started in American O scale 40 years ago I served my apprenticeship through building O scale kits, a lot of the kits in those days were just a few pieces of wood or styrene or both, in a box with limited instructions you either learnt quickly or went back to HO scale, even harder for me was I had to learn the American language (you blokes do use different words!) but I stuck at it and I'm still here building, nowadays mostly scratch building. The photos show the various "accessories" attached to the building like the coal unloading the office the smokestack and a small storage room most of these small items have come from different projects I have built over the years that I have kept thinking they might be useful in the future I have boxes of these things as I have built many items over those 40 years one day I keep saying to myself I will have a major cleanup and get rid of this stuff because although it might look like junk (and it probably is!) to some people, they are my treasure chests I am always delighted to find something long forgotten that I can now use. Anyway enough of this nostalgia here are the photos of the latest project snapped on the kitchen table much to my wife Margie's concern! Roo. In West Australia.

i suggest reinforcing the styrene walls on the inside with horizontal strips, to prevent warpage. I would use 1/2 inch wide strips cut from .040 inch thick styrene.

I would put a strip at the bottom and at least one midway and one at the top of the walls.

Today I am gluing the Brick sheets this is an exciting time because the building will now start to look like a building and not a white blob. I use MBS "Rough Brick" but there are other names around Plastruct, Wills (English), I use MBS (Model Builders Supply) a Canadian product because I can buy it easier than the other brands and I like the "Rough Brick" finish. I have included myself in the photo because I like to think you blokes are standing next to me watching. The white space you see doesn't need brickwork there as it's hidden by the Unloading shed.   Roo.

It's amazing what some brickwork does! Ha Ha. All this in the middle of a massive hailstorm. Roo.

Thanks Alan I would have put this thread in your "Sunday" thread but forgot what day it was! Anyway to late now here is the Roof (Wills Asbestos sheets) on, I will make some ventilators for the roof now I know the easy way to do them. Roo.

Roo, not bad for a guy with the flu. I'm always amazed at how quickly tour projects come together.

Joe I'm well over the flu and getting into building again.

Today I thought I should do some more on the Boiler house so I was going to put a series of round vents in the roof when I thought.. Naw! that's to easy so I looked up my Steel Mill books and built another roof on top of the roof it's just sitting there at the moment not glued down yet..

The old bloke holding the Boiler House is the me I'm thinking it would make a good Dolls house for one of the granddaughters!.

Good job!  Wonder where us "blokes" in the Hew Hess Hay could get our paws on those Wills and MBS materials? I am always interested in making buildings look different.
