As everyone might guess from some of my previous posts I'm a fan of the B&M. Since there are no diesels available in standard gauge i decided I'd go for a steam engine. Attached are pictures on the reworked 390 i recently purchased on Ebay.

Looks nice.

Wow, it seems like I just keep seeing new Boston & Maine heralds... How many different logos did they have? I've never seen this one before. The red shading on the letters goes really well with the 390.
I'm a big B&M fan and that is sweet!
I wouldn't count the diesel thing out.... as far as production goes, Forney made some Jeeps.
They just might not be available thru the current producers. There are a few other one-off diesels that were made, but the Forney GP is the most common.

Pete, what's not to like about this??? Looks great!!
Thanks everyone for the responses. As to the diesels I knew Forney made some but had never seen a good picture of one before the post above. I wish I could find one, I'd have it done in the B&M Bluebird Scheme in no time. If anyone is ever selling one I'd certainly be interested! By the way do the Forney Geeps look oversized with 500 or 200 series cars? I've heard they were big!
On this 390 I didn't want to do anything that was irreversable so the Red stripe on the engine is automotive pin stripe tape. For the tender I picked up a 384 tender on Ebay. I made brass plates to fit the indentations epoxied them in and smoothed them over with Squadron putty. The decals are O scale and were made by Baystate Models from Georgetown MA years ago but I recently noticed that Highball graphics now has these available. Once the tender shell was done I just switched it with the new one and my B&M steamer was ready.
Of course since this is the passenger paint scheme I now need a passenger train to pull. I have a set of the red fireball cars that I'm thinking of painting but can't decide exactly how I want it to look. I could go with the dark maroon that the B&M used on heavyweight cars or I'm considering going with something more modern, Silver cars with a maroon stripe through the windows to simulate streamline cars. I'm in no rush so if anyone has any thoughts on a paint scheme for the passenger cars let me know.
