This may seem like a weird question. Can a postwar knuckle coupler be some how fitted onto a prewar truck without the use of the adapters? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Yes, my Dad did to 2800 series prewar cars without cutting anything. You have to get the knuckle out from under the car. Remove the box coupler and use a postwar coupler plate. The rear axle mount goes on the outer axle and you have to fab a support to go to the inner axle. It's a pain, but definitely possible.
