You are welcome.

Bob Tuft's book, "The Almost Complete Guide to American Flyer S Gauge Sets" has set box sizes for most sets, but when I consulted that source, the stated dimensions for the 5440T did not match what I measured for my own sample. Consequently, I reported to you the box dimensions for the sample that I have on hand.

Bob

Tufts reports 19.75" x 11.5" x 5.5" (B1260) as an alternate, which is reasonable. The box number (B1N 567) for my set is reported, but no dimensions are given. But, you now have those, as I posted.

The set table for set box dimensions and box number are blank for the 5545W (pages 54-55). A reasonable guess would be that the size would be fairly similar to that for the K5440T. A No. 710 whistle controller is substituted for a 4B to activate the whistle in the No. 346. The 5545W is a tougher set than the K5440T.

Hope this helps.

My 5545-W set came with the 710 whistle control.

Bob, while you are updating you copy of Tuft's book for this set box, the manufacturer was Star, box type 1, printed date 55.  Also, you may want to update the set box info for set 5655RH, The New Sunshine Special, as follows:  B1N995, 17.5 x 14 x 5.5, type 1, Interstate, 9-56.
