Building a switch control panel for 022 switches

I've seen a lot of you guys have built really nice switch panels, with diagrams of the layout, micro switches and led's to indicate switch positions. I like the idea and it would clean up the (12) 022 remotes I have on my control board.

I was wondering if someone could recommend some part#'s and suppliers (switches, leds', etc). Also, do I need to wire in resistors, diodes or anything else?

Finally, how (and what) do you guys use transfer the diagram onto? i.e.. plexiglass, wood? How do transfer the actual drawings? I have nice printouts from my layout software, but don't know how to get that onto a board.
