I have always liked the Plasticville firehouse. #FH-4. Being a "high railer" I always thought that it was too small to portray a firehouse and thought it made a much better auto garage -gas station. I have one in storage I will get out real soon for my new layout. I bought it new back around 1983-85, give or take. I just saw some of these kits for sale on Ebay for $15-20. but some people are selling the original kits from 1950 for $250-!!!!!! Yikes. that's robbery, isn't it?

Probably! In some cases it depends on the edition of the kit or box. Some are more rare than others. In my opinion none are worth that kind of money. I have all of the ones they made in some form or another and I don't let myself pay more than 20 bucks at most for something I really wanted.
When you go to ebay, if you scroll down a little, on the left hand side there is the option to see sold listings. Click this button. This is what people have actually paid for that particular item. From what I see, they typically sell for around $10, some between $15 and $20 if they have the box.
