In 2000, my wife bought me the Lionel animated hobby shop.  The shop has been stored away waiting for a time when I would have a layout large enough to display and run it.  I now have that layout, and last night I unpacked the accessory and wired it up It looks great and runs perfectly.  The two page instructions only list 2 replaceable parts; the four fuse style 4 watt bulbs which light the interior, and a single screw in bulb for the Lionel logo on the front of the building.  Anticipating a

lot of use in coming years, I sent an e-mail to Lionel requesting availability and price info on the 30-2998-300 4volt fuse type

and 30-2960-300 12volt screw in bulbs.

The response from Lionel is that they do not have either of these bulbs in stock.  I have not seen the fuse style bulbs before.  The 12volt screw in I can probably find a make do.  Does anybody know of a source for "fuse style" bulbs.

The "fuse bulbs" are actually 12v festoon bulbs, which are available in incandescent, halogen, and LED forms. Dale is right on with his automotive supply suggestion, as these bulbs are commonly used in cars and boats (interior dome lights, door courtesy lights, vanity mirror lights, etc.).

If you do a web search for "fuse led light" you will find plenty of drop-in replacement bulbs for the now-discontinued Lionel part. I didn't find any 4v fuse bulbs; 6v and 12v are more typical voltages. The closest I could find was this bulb which should work for your application. The same source also offers 6 and 12v screw-in LED bulbs to replace the original incandescent ones.

Good luck!
