Haven't run my trains in about 2 months. As usual, hit the power, Legacy Base, Cab-2 and off we go. Everything works as it should except I can not get the direction button to function. The Boost & Break work fine but pressing the rocker does nothing. I tried new batteries but no change. Just this one function seems to be at fault. I tried multiple engines so I'm pretty sure it is the Cab -2. Any ideas???

Sounds like the physical button has a problem. One thing to try, a hard reset of the CAB2.
There is a small hole in the back of the CA2. press that with a bent paperclip and reset the CAB2.
My guess is that you have a physical issue with the direction button.
Thanks Gunrunnerjohn. I did try the reset and forced air. Neither worked so I guess I will send it in to Lionel after Christmas. I just can't go in reverse for the grandchildren. Ha.
See my response on your other thread about the "Velocity Throttle Direction Control" in the CTC menu.
In TMCC or Legacy mode, you can set up the V.T.D.C. to reverse if you turn it down at 0 throttle, a poor man's reverse. Hit the CTC button and then the SCROLL button, it's the first setting.
Marty, you slipped in there while was looking at my remote to tell him the keystrokes!
