Can 2 DCS remotes operate.......

Sure, you can use all the remotes you like (within reason) and control multiple engines on a single loop.

Mark now that you are getting another DCS Hand Held Remote control, you will need to send them up to WillyGee in Maine to have them upgraded to fully re-chargable units, a way cool upgrade that works like a million bucks.

There is one caveat of which you should be aware.

In order to operate correctly, each DCS engine must have the same DCS ID# in all DCS Remotes in which it is present. If not, the engine will not operate correctly.

This may be assured by always adding a DCS engine to all remotes, sequentially, one after the other.

Or by using the Loader program save and restore feature to clone remotes.  This has the added advanbtage of having the remnote's data on your computer, in case the remote ever needs a reset.

I have 4 remotes, all of which may be in use at the same time when grandkids are over.  I use NiMH rechargeable AAA's; have 2 extra sets, so if a set goes dead, a new set gets popped in and we're off.
