Can I use an ASC-2 with my Legacy Cab 2 remote to operate non command remote control switches such as 6-12045 and 6-12046, or do I need to replace all my switches? I've heard they can be operated by either the supplied remotes or Legacy.

Yes you can use ASC-2 to control those switches. Each ASC-2 can operate 4 switches or 8 accessories.
My follow up would be: Can I use both the ASC2 and the switches depending on whether I want to run Legacy or conventionally, and how can both be wired to use as i choose?
