I'm going to beat Barry to this one.
DCS O Gauge Companion Digital Book
You can also get a paperback version.
Or THIS VIDEO...I've heard it's pretty good.
You guys left out the most important one:

The DCS sub-forum here is an excellent source of info and a place to get all your questions answered.
There is a five part series on You Tube that gives some basics of DCS, just go to You Tube and type in MTH DCS to find the series. The author is rayman 4449.

it's very good! Rich did an excellent job on this! you should definitely pick up a copy then get Barry's book.
Even the DCS manual is a good info.
Barry's book is available at Amazon last time I checked for like $16. A must have, imho.
The book that comes with the TIU unit is a bit dis-organized, but does answer a lot of questions. IMO. Noted for all those who don't want to read the 147 pages.
There is a FAQ section. (Frequently Asked Questions).
Trouble-Shooting section.
Glossary of all those wild new terms, acronyms, and abbreviations.
And a 1 page index.
Is this book available on line, for anyone wishing to get their feet wet with DCS????? Again IMO.
I would also recommend Rich's video, I played it so many times my wife got tired of hearing Rich's voice. For technical information you should also get Barry's book.

This one was always my favorite -
Yes, that Rockwell Turbo Encabulator video is a classic. However, the one you linked to is a more recent, scripted version.
Here is the ORIGINAL "Turbo Encabulator" video that was done totally off the cuff by the presenter. No prompter. Absolutely hilarious...
IMO the only 2 things needed for DCS is Barry's Book and the PS2/PS3 section of this forum.
While I don't own a copy of Barry's book yet because my layout doesn't require it due to it's simplicity, when I do build a more permanent and complex layout Barry's book is on my list. Obviously the forum is also a source of updated and quick solutions.
I'm not familiar with the OGR video but being it came out while DCS was still fairly new, I expect it misses a lot of the updates that Barry's book and the real time OGR forum covers.
My vote is also for Rich's OGR video. IMO the best DCS teaching tool, well worth the money.

I can guarantee that there is no more complete guide to DCS that this book. Nothing else even comes close.
Period.
More than 5,000 copies sold!
Everything you ever wanted to know about DCS and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!
1. Rich's video to start with. It gives you an easy to understand tour of DCS, and Rich does an excellent job of explaining the basics.
2. Once you have watched the video, perhaps a couple of times, then Barry's book. The book will go into the finer details that will actually answer the questions you will have when you start wiring and using DCS. I like the digital version of the book because you can search for specific items.
Good luck!

These men are giving you great advise, Both the OGR Video Guide to DCS and Barry's DCS Companion are something I highly recommend. Rich really does do a great DCS educational video, especially for beginners and Barry has been nice enough, once we pay for his great DCS book, to let us copy it for track side usage. Which I seriously advise every beginner to due, and make notes in it, as you build for you own usage. Have fun and come back and ask any questions you might have, we have a great knowledgeable bunch of people here on the OGR to help you learn, no matter how experienced you get, there is always more to learn.
