I would like to know some announcements made from steam engines that have 'station sounds'. I am interested in a steamer and would like to know if it has something like 'all aboard'. The description says that it has station sounds, not freight sounds. I do not have DCS, but TMCC, which I have found to work on MTH engines. The engine is a Southern Pacific(0-31), new catalog. I wouldn't expect you to know that model, but a general idea is fine. I do own a few MTH engines, and some of their sounds are specific to their engines. I am also very pleased of their operation. thanks.

They are PA announcements of Trains coming in and leaving.
I have one but since I run freight trains I never play them.
Mine talks about the "Pennsylvania Limited" and gives a track number.
You need a station sounds passenger car, it has those kinds of sounds triggered from the TMCC remote.

Hey gunnie, the MTH engine(steamer) has its own station sounds built in. I was wondering if there was an 'all aboard' mentioned. I have an MTH F(?) series that calls out the route.

Typically, there is. It's been in every passenger station sounds sequence I've ever heard.
The MTH sequence usually goes something to the effect of:
1. "Now arriving on Track X, Train #Y, The (insert train name here). *bell clang* Train stops on command.
2. It then has sounds of passengers getting off. "Baggage to the right", "have a nice day" etc... There is also a random background commotion, every once in a while someone whistles, etc...
3. People getting on, "Welcome aboard", "Watch your step", etc...
4. "Now departing for _____ on track X. Train #Y, The (insert train name here). "ALL ABOOOOOARD!"
Station sounds fade, engine sounds resume, Engine crew says something cheezy like, "The conductor's giving us the highball signal", the horn sounds twice (for forward, 3x if you're going backwards", and the train pulls out.
You can trigger those sounds manually, which would probably work better for some folks. The automatic sequence doesn't always work for everyone, I have trouble getting it to stop exactly at a station.
Yup, I forgot to mention, they always say "All Aboard" at the end.

You'll never make a good hogger. One you press the PSA you can still control the speed until the direction button is pressed??? I think. so you could scroll the speed down to 1 scale mile per hour and then press the dir button. This is the speed the engine moves out at after the PSAs. After pressing the PSA and you decide" I don't want to go through all this" , pressing the PSA again gives you back full control of the engine.
Gregg, I didn't realize you could be in PFA mode and control the speed initially. I'll have to give that a try, solves my one issue.
I know you can cancel PFA anytime, for some reason I never tried the speed until I had pushed the button. Makes perfect sense now that you say it.
