Can you put Scale Trucks on a 773?

I would think that you could. The optional scale truck that was made for the 1990 Hudson also fit my 2000 gold Hudson. I think that the non-scale pilot truck that was original equipment on the above two Hudsons is the same as the 773. I don't know if Lionel parts still has that truck, but if not you might find it at a larger parts dealer.

I have the 1996 C&O Streamlined Hudson and it runs fine with the scale front truck installed. The only operational difference being that it requires larger curves with it installed. I found it funny that the manual says the scale front truck is for displaying the model only.

I have been running scale trucks on 773's for 40 years using 072 switches, Gargraves and Ross switches.
