Are there any prewar tinplate collectors in the great white north that want to compare notes, trade, whatever?  I started collecting prewar trains about a year ago and find that i am rather lonely in my hobby.  There does not seem to be any clubs?  Train shows are full of modern DCC setups and vendors are selling piles of "junk" postwar items.  In all of my travels I have yet to see one decent prewar piece...not necessarily for sale...just to see it?  So if there are any other Canadian collectors (I live close to Toronto) that would like to chat, please give me a shout.  I collect primarily prewar Lionel and Ives (Both O gauge and standard gauge) American Flyer, Marklin, Hogem JEP and Bing but am really interested in anything "vintage".

Thanks

We're in the same boat.  I believe the the high price to import just about anything new prior to WWII makes it hard to find prewar items up here these days.  I really have better luck on trips to the States.  Standard Gauge, while not impossible to find here, is usually priced way out of line.

My collection of tinplate is modest...kept small because I dabble in everything else Railroad related.
