I don't have a cemetery on my layout, but I think having one is a great idea. Arnold
My cemetery is in the adobe adobe enclosed yard in desert mining town of Arsenic Springs.
If any of you serious modelers live in the Valhalla, NY area, there is a huge cemetery there known as Gate of Heaven cemetery along the Taconic Parkway, that would be great to model. There are 2 or 3 railroad crossings there (a terrible train crash occurred at one of those crossings about 3 years ago), as well as a small village (the hamlet of Valhalla), the Valhalla train station on MetroNorth, and a restaurant made from an old passenger train car, all of which would also be great to model.
Gate of Heaven cemetery is famous. Babe Ruth is buried there, and I also believe Lou Gehrig and other famous people are buried there.
The scenery in and about Gate of Heaven, including the rolling hills, the Bronx River and the trees and greenery, are all beautiful. I know this because I've gone to many funerals there, including those of my parents.
I would consider doing a layout based on this cemetery and its surroundings, but I'm not a serious skilled modeler and am content with my current whimsical three rail tubular track Postwar switching layout (Popsicle Stick Yankee Stadium, George Washing Machine Bridge, etc., LOL).

Joe,
The cathedral is by Lemax. Part of their Halloween series.
