I have seen a lot of Marx, including multiples of some "rare" items, but on eBay

now is a rare item I had never seen before, and the bid NOW is $550, which isn't chump change for some other brands of single cars.  This is a tilting dump

car, that appears to use the common yellow six inch body, painted black for the

NKP, possibly on the same frame, but with the 3/16 trucks and metal tilt couplers.  I'd like to have it but can't justify anywhere close to that many shillings for a single car.  Look it up, you might not see another...It would make a start on an ore train of them behind a #333....and give you a reason to go to

York to hunt more of them..

I was prowling around Crossroads Antique Mall in Hershey PA, and found a Marx boxed set with the 1095 A-B, and several freight cars. The condition was excellent, complete with track and transformer, box in nice shape. Price was $190, with a 10% discount for cash or check. FWIW. And, no, it isn't mine. Sure was tempting tho. The days of $15 boxed Marx sets are long gone, eh?

jumijo:  There are just three Marx engines I am interested in, the #999, the #333,

and the #1829...so I assume everybody has at least one #333.  The gray NYC passenger cars in the set with the #333 is a really common set.  The bid has gone

up to over $600.  While I am sure I have not seen one before, I am trying to remember if I'd heard of it.  I don't guess anybody has ever brought one to the Marx

meet at York?
