I am looking for realitic looking street lights for the main street of my small town. Most of the ones that I have seen are either too large or too old (gas light style). I was admiring the ones that Lee Willis has on his town and have tried to contact him to see what he used. He doesn't have an email address listed on his profile, so maybe he will see this and respond.

I plan on mounting them on the sidewalks which are only 1 1/2" deep. I chose that depth as that is what the MTH sidewalks are and I plan to match them where I use other buildings.

I encourage you to send Andre a photo of what you would like to have and he will build it exactly to your specifications. Many times I have sent him a rambling description of some part I need to have made from brass. Just from my description, he send me a sketch and a day later a photo of the part he made - street signs, lamp posts, a brass scaffold, water tanks. He is a great craftsman and a valuable resource, not to mention an honest good guy.

I just learned the price of Walthers three packs of gooseneck lights are moving to $18.95 MSRP with the next shipment - that's up from $12.95. The ones you refer to and all others in that line will be taking a similar jump due to manufacturing resource issues in China. There's a rant on the subject -- >>  Walthers Price Rant.

I made a mold of a 60’s cobra head lamp cover and melted hot glue into it.

Eyeglass nose pieces can be modified to model street lamp head covers.

Cover half way with shrink tubing to hold and conceal the mini led.

Both of the covers above can be sprayed silver.

All depends how exact you want to be.

As for prices, all train items have doubled or tripled in the last 16 months.

I was lucky to finish the layout and O collection before all this happened.

But the new 2 rail layout idea has been scrapped mainly on principal not cost.

I'm just not paying the new O scale asking prices.

While certainly an option, the 50% price increase Walthers just instituted on this product line has an impact. In 2007, these were $7.99. Last month, they were $12.95. With the next shipment, MSRP on these is going to $18.95.

ANYTHING HERE YOU CAN USE?

I know this is an old thread, but it is from this thread that I learned about the lamp poles crafted by Andre Garcia (AG).  I was looking for some quality lamp poles to mount on my Maryville Station platform and learned about AG's work.  I ordered some of his lamp poles and mounted them to the platform.  Here is a photo of the completed platform.

I really like the way the platform turned out thanks in large part to AG's distinctive and realistic looking lamp poles.  Thanks, AG.

Looking at the photo are there any other details that would be appropriate to add to this 1940's-1950's era station platform?  Your ideas would be appreciated.  Bo
