My standard gauge Camel Back would only run in reverse when I got it. Removed the two toggle switches and replaced them with a bridge rectifier. Only runs forward, but it runs well. I need to work on the wheel gauging because it drags in the corner needing almost full throttle to get get through. Very unusual loco.

A mechanical engineer friend of mine with a little bit of a machine shop setup in his basement helped me get my CMT Camelback Erie in shape. We replaced the gears, reset the motor spacing, resprung the front truck and rewired it.

It was a non-functioning derelict when I got it, but I'm happy to report it's now a smooth runner both forwards and reverse.
