I used Monster Modelworks laser-cut paper-type cobblestone material for the streets in the downtown area of my layout. Expensive and satisfactory. But looks like the Chooch material is more versatile.

I see brick on streets shown above. When l first moved to the area, l could often find my way to a small town's railroad station to photo, by blundering on and following an old brick street, often when many others were blacktopped.

I felt that cobblestones were an essential part of modeling small-town streets near the railroad station in the 1940s to 1950s.

The Chooch sheets are great- look good, easy to cut, etc. Somewhat expensive bt nothing I have seen looks as good.
But I found the adhesive to not be so great- hard to remove the backing, then it did not hold against a wood substrate. I might recommend just using hot melt glue to hold them down. Don't even bother to peel the backing- when I used the Chooch I found peeling the backing to be maddening.
I will use LIQUID nails as I generally do anyway. I like the unevenness, dips & rolls of cobblestone streets. Those sheet will go over1/8th to 1/4" foam to be even with the rails.
As I said above, scan n print out to reduce costs. 10.00 bucks for a 12"x3-3/4 sheet.
Period modeling at its best. Create an era in time which I enjoy modeling.
