In a coil coupler assembly (see 6TC-110 in the attache), what is the correct term for describing those wings (or tabs) at the rear where on one side the slide shoe wire is soldered?

Then the real questions-  I have attempted to search for the answers, but maybe some one can guide me.

1.  Are there one or more ways to repair those wings of coupler assembly 6TC-110 where one or both of the wings are broken?

2.  Where the coil winding has become dis-attached, is there a way to "unwind" by one turn to provide more scope, and then re-solder the wire back onto the wing tab?   If so, tips for soldering would be appreciated.

3.  The 6TC-110 assembly appears to always be attached to a plate that joins up to the truck axles.  The plate has a slide show or roller pickup.  Can the coupler/coil assembly be removed from this plate?   If not, is the alternative for repair to find a new plate (with the coupler assembly) of the correct axle dimensions and having the desired pickup?

4.  and with respect to #3, is there a recommended method for pulling back the four plate tabs from the axles so that the plate (with coupler) can be removed?

Starting with #4, don't bend those tabs. The truck bolsters have a lot of spring to them, so remove the two axles with the wheels by gently opening the sideframes to work on these couplers off of the car.
