To all of the ASC
and GGG, does anyone know what the component U40 is on the ps3 ae-100030 tender board , my chip is marked CF5 ,when power is applied that piece gets very hot . I will replace it if I know what the correct Ic chip is ,it could one be of three different types, zener diode, voltage sensor, and schmitt trigger ,all in the Smd package SOT25 . U40 is on the top of the photo

I looked, but no information as well. I couldn't find that part based on the lettering and footprint.
FYI u 40 on a ps3 board is : ta lda, SN74LVC1G14DCKR a Schmitt trigger . I got them at Mouser .

Yes George it fixed that problem , now I have them in stock !
I took out a dead board to just take a look, and this one doesn't have the U40 identified in the picture above. A 2nd board does have the U40.
I can't identify any version information on the board I'm looking at - it is a ROHS one.
So anybody have an idea how many different versions of these tender boards are? How to tell the version? Or the common failures?

You do realize that ROHS is an EU directive that specifies what materials can be used in PCB manufacture, right? It has nothing to do with the version of the PCB you're looking at.
Yes Jonny boy, I know what it is. Gotta get the lead out of PCBs while living in 100+ year old buildings with lead paint and asbestos!
If you remember first gen 3.0 boards weren't ROHS compliant.

B, E, F for the tender board. It is on there somewhere, some in corner other in middle if memory serves me. Obviously the non EMI compliant are Rev B. Definitely different layout. G
