I have a few questions about the above subject. About 2 weeks ago I was driving north on Interstate 287 in north Jersey and and passed 3 trailer trucks loaded with concrete ties.  First of why wouldn't they be shipped on rail cars where you could carry a lot more and since they were going to some railroad some place it would seem to make more sense to ship on rail cars versus trucks. Would anyone have any idea where they may have originated from?  Like I said they were north bound in New Jersey. Thanks Jim T
