connecting fixed voltage to the Lionel fasTrack lighted bumper | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Can anyone tell me how I go about connecting fixed voltage to the fastrack lighted bumper? I saw it somewhere online, but I can't find it anymore. It seems to me that all I need to do is connect the ACC to the red lead on the bumper. Does this sound right?

You will also have to isolate the center track rail from the rest of the track.

When I rewired mine, I put a diode in. Always wondered why Lionel didn't do the same.

It' been a while since I did it, but I think there are wires on the bottom that connect the LED to the two rails. I just unsoldered them from the rails and added my own wires which I ran to the ACC port on my transformer.

When i wrecked one of mine ,i just used one of the led's from Evans Designs which are all made up to work with power from the track ,easy & quick .
