Usually I connect the ground of all my transformers together.  I do this by connecting a wire from the 'U' terminal on transformer 1 to the 'U' terminal on transformer 2, etc.  Obviously transformers are in phase.

Since I run DCS and use the recommended star wiring, that means that I use terminal blocks positioned down stream from the transformers.  I run + and - from each TIU channel to one set of terminal blocks per TIU channel.

I'm wondering if there's any difference connecting the returns at the transformer versus connecting the returns at the terminal blocks.  In what way I don't even know to ask! Or maybe do both???

thanks - walt

Walt;

You can run one from each Transformer to a Terminal block and then tie all of them together at the terminal block if you want.

The main thing to remember is not to make a loop in your ground.

IE don't tie all the terminal blocks together and all the transformers together, Then go from each Terminal block to a transformer ground. that makes a bunch of loops.
