At the risk of igniting a controversy, I have what I hope is a simple request for guidance.  I am constructing a removable piece of the layout which will serve as an access point to other parts of the layout.  It will have track power (2 pairs of 14 gauge wires (black & red) going to a terminal strip).  It will also have a turnout (DZ-2500A switch machine) wired for both push button (firmly attached to the fascia) and TMCC - in all around six (6) or so 22 gauge wires.

The thinking for the quickly disconnected turnout wiring is some sort of multiple connector with quick (plug in) wires.  The name Molex comes to mind, but I don't know what I should be looking for.  Can someone suggest a solution, preferably with part or catalog numbers to look at?

Many thanks,

George

I vote for Rail Fan Ron's -

"Go to the auto parts store and get some molded trailer connectors. They come in 3 and four wire models. Get one set of each and that would give you 7 wires available, they are keyed and you could probably get the whole works for about 10 bucks. "

You may want what they call an extension for extending a trailer cable, male on one end and female on the other. Simple, inexpensive, should handle Like 15 amps each wire ( I think they are #14 stranded copper, not sure ) They are keyed so you can not plug them in backwards and they are wide enough to stick a label on them.
